Nu’a ‘o Lalo
Eia ka wai a ke akua

Ka lā’au wai kapu na ka lani
Ka lā’au i ho’omū
‘O wai ke inu i ka ‘ai?
‘O nā ‘ula ke ‘ai
Eia ka alana i ke akua
E inu i ka wai lani
E inu i ka lā’au wai lā
‘Eli’eli kapu, ‘eli’eli noa
Ua noa ā………

From below to the heavens
The firmaments above are heaped up
Thick are those below
The water of the akua
The sacred ‘awa
Look at the currents from both realms
The sacred ‘awa of the chiefs
The ‘awa that will cause silence
Who will partake?
The kapu one’s
Here is the offering to the akua
Drink the chiefly ‘awa
Drink the ‘awa
Intense is the kapu, profound is the release
Free it is…
