My name is Kūpono McDaniel. Caring for my ohana is my primary purpopse in life. I am a park ranger at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park serving as the youth and volunteer programs coordinator. I grew up in Seattle Washington far removed from my Hawaiianness but moved to Hawaii Island on 1992, but I feel culturally stunted by being away for so much of my life but Iʻm working on it. I am grateful for my Hawaiian heritage and the opportunities to continue learning.
